Unitex Logistics has completed a challenging project shipment involving the movement of 38-metre steel foundation pipes from Huanghua, China to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
The operation required careful planning due to the exceptional cargo length, complex lifting requirements, and limited breakbulk handling experience at the destination port. Maintaining the project schedule while managing these operational constraints was a key part of the execution.
To support the movement, Unitex arranged dedicated yard storage to accommodate an extended overland transport period, operated 24/7 crane operations, and completed vessel loading in four days instead of the planned six. The project also involved the use of a custom 15-metre lifting boom, tandem ship cranes, and custom 10-ton lifting slings for controlled discharge at destination.
The shipment highlights Unitex’s capability in handling oversized and technically demanding project cargo through detailed planning, specialized equipment, and disciplined execution.
Congratulations to Karen Ngo , Nancy Wei and the Unitex Logistics team on the successful delivery of this complex project shipment.
